Every project is different – considerations like scope of work, size, location, time frames, and level of customisation is all taken into account when providing a project quote. After an initial call and in-person complimentary consultation, we’ll provide you with a detailed project proposal. Typically, our custom design services start from $10k+. Our brand promise includes being honest and transparent and this includes when it comes to pricing – our project proposals include a detailed investment breakdown, with no hidden costs. Part of this transparency is also passing on our full trade discounts of furniture and decorative items.
Interior design is typically a luxury service, however we also offer a Design Consultation package – perfect for those who have budget constraints. This is a set price with set inclusions.

Selecting the right Interior Designer is a critical step. Research potential designers, and what level of design service you require – ask yourself if you’re looking for finishes or selections, or a designer who can collaborate with architects, trades & builders for end to end custom design. See #5 for more information.
Once you've narrowed down your shortlist, it’s vital you choose an Interior Designer who you can trust. New builds and renovations can be long haul projects, with some taking years. It is vital to engage someone that you feel is a good fit in personality, temperament and communication style. An initial consultation is a must – we offer this free of charge.
Another critical question to ask yourself when selecting your Interior Designer, is does their work resonate with you? It’s important you like the Interior Designer's previous work. Whilst AD Design doesn’t work within a particular style or trends and our design outcomes respond directly to our client’s individuality, our work is infused with our own signature touch and style that is woven through each project.

Full service is a term you may see on most Interior Design websites, but it's important to note this may mean different things to different designers, depending on their level of qualification and skill set. We want you to be informed to make the decision that is best for you, your project and your budget.
The interior design industry is currently unregulated, meaning anyone can call themselves an ‘interior designer’– despite having no formal qualification. It's not to say someone without a qualification is not talented in their field, it just means that one interior designer’s website mentioning ‘full service’ may mean they offer finishes selections, furniture & styling; however they don’t actually offer any spatial planning, 3D renders, custom detailed design, documentation or detailing. Whilst they may be able to handle the ‘look’ of a project, there will be gaps in capacity if you require a more technical & detailed outcome and have spaces that need a higher level of design resolution.
At AD Design we prefer to use the term End to End as we are qualified in all areas of interior design including interior architecture, design, decoration, and styling. We can tackle a project head on to resolve all internal spatial and design problems and also collaborate with architects, building designers, trades & builders. We have the technical skill set and experience to provide you with all design concepts and documentation requirements including spatial planning options, resolving intrusive services collaboratively with your team, and 3D renders of the full design intent. Please refer to our services page for a full list of our capabilities.

As an industry professional, we have access to exclusive trade pricing across many items such as furniture and decorative. We aim to build trust and transparency with our clients, so we charge a set design fee for selections and procurement of furniture and decorative items, while passing on the full trade discount to our clients.

Ideally at the beginning of your project. Interior Designers think holistically about your home or business, and their expertise and input is crucial in the early planning stages to ensure a considered and functional outcome. We happily collaborate with architects and building designers and enjoy the process of doing so to develop a fully resolved design with all aspects considered.

The short answer – yes! Every member of your team from the Builder to the Architect and Interior Designer, has a specialised perspective and unique skill set. Leaving out an integral part of the team means potential problems at completion as designing on the fly can be risky and costly. Interior Designers save you time, as trying to manage your own design project can be time consuming and stressful. Interior Designers will think holistically – from your lifestyle, workplace, family, business and brand. All these factors inform a design and the documentation AD Design creates fully informs the builder of every detail of the design outcome. We recommend your Interior Designer is across the project from concept to completion; that way we can collaboratively resolve any challenges that arise during construction and not compromise the design outcome.
-
Interior Designers think on a human experience level and add another dimension of detail and consideration to your Architect's plans. We can review and suggest alterations to spatial planning to fully support your daily experience, whether it be in your home or business, before jumping head first into the detailed design of every space.

You play the most important role! We want you to get the most out of our experience working together and to have the experience be fun and enjoyable along the way. We will walk you through the entire process right at the beginning, so you know what to expect and offer suggestions for what services you may need to best suit your project and budget.
You don’t need to have it all figured out – we can help you with that, however we will need you to be decisive. Project time frames can be tight, and part of our role is to ensure we stick to our deadlines. There will be a few stages where we require your feedback to proceed (after the concept presentation for example), and timely feedback is crucial to keep the process rolling. Of course, there will be time for feedback and revisions and this is absolutely encouraged. Open communication is crucial and questions are encouraged every step of the way. We love getting down to the granular detail, ensuring we leave no stone unturned, so we can absolutely nail your brief.

It can vary greatly, depending on the scale of your project. We know it’s super exciting to start a project, so our process is broken into stages, ensuring we’re delivering new design outcomes and updates at each stage. Once appointed, we will provide an estimated time frame for how long to expect everything to take – we are all about transparency.

That’s okay, it can be challenging to articulate exactly what we need, which is why we offer an initial call and complimentary in-person design consults. We will discuss the processes and ask you intentional questions to unearth what you desire most from your project. We also recommend an inspiration board – Pinterest is a great inspiration tool. Anything you see that inspires you (it doesn’t have to be an interior – it could be a texture, the way the light falls, a pattern when you're out, or an object), often helps us put together a picture of who you are and who we are designing for. We pride ourselves on providing an exceptional client experience, we will be alongside you every step of the way.
